FAQ & Objections
The questions buyers actually ask
Straight answers, including where the product is still maturing.
These are the questions that come up in a real evaluation. The answers are deliberately precise — a claim we cannot stand behind in a demo is worse than no claim.
On the AI
- Is my ledger run by an AI with no human oversight? — No. AI drafts and scores entries; a trained accountant reviews anything low-confidence, high-dollar or from an unknown vendor before it posts. That review step is where the entries go, not an optional extra.
- Does the AI Concierge chat understand any question about my books? — It answers common balance and spending questions from your real posted numbers. It is a focused assistant, not an open-ended analyst — for anything it does not cover, the dashboards and your accountant do. We do not pitch it as "ask it anything".
- How accurate is the document reading? — Extraction produces a draft with a confidence score. Low-confidence extractions route to a human. Accuracy on your document mix is something the walkthrough shows you directly, against your own paperwork.
- Does it learn my vendors? — Yes, and this is real. Every time an accountant posts or reclassifies a vendor, the outcome is recorded and applied to that vendor's next transaction, with confidence rising on each recurrence.
On integrations
- Does it sync with QuickBooks? — It exports posted journal entries as a CSV in QuickBooks Online's native import format. It is a one-way export, not a live two-way sync — that larger integration is on the roadmap, not shipped.
- Can it connect my bank? — Yes — bank feeds run on Plaid and processor settlements on Stripe, on real integration code. Connections are provisioned per engagement; the walkthrough shows which are live for your setup.
- What about my POS / payroll / e-commerce? — POS daily sales, payroll reports (ADP / Gusto) and e-commerce orders are among the 20 supported formats. During the beta some connectors are shown with representative data — we will be specific about which.
On the accountants
- Are your reviewers licensed CPAs? — They are trained accountants doing ledger review. LedgerIQ provides the ledger and the tooling — tax, advisory and attestation are out of scope by design, and stay with your CPA.
- Can I use my own accountant? — Yes, free. You invite them from your portal; they get a workspace for your books and can switch between yours and their own practice. One active outside-accountant seat per business.
- Where are the reviewers based? — LedgerIQ operates supervised expert delivery pods under accountant management. The review standard and the confidence gate are the same regardless of who is on the pod.
On security and continuity
- How is my data separated from other customers? — Postgres row-level security on every tenant table — enforced by the database, not an application filter. Re-tested with a three-way isolation check using the least-privilege role.
- What happens if something goes wrong with the database? — Daily full backups with generational retention (running since May 2026), daily off-site replication, and transaction-log archiving that bounds worst-case loss to about 30 minutes. The restore path has been drilled — a real restore, checked by matching total debits to total credits.
- Do you have point-in-time recovery? — Not yet as a scheduled capability — it is being added. What is in place today: daily off-site backups with a restore path that has been tested end-to-end, giving same-day full-database recovery.
- Can posted entries be tampered with? — Posted entries are immutable at the application layer; corrections are new entries. A database-level enforcement trigger is on the hardening roadmap.
On price and availability
- What does it cost? — Three plan tiers — AI-only, Founder, and AI-plus-human review — priced per engagement during the beta. Pricing is confirmed in the walkthrough.
- Can I buy it today? — LedgerIQ is currently in private (Founder) beta. Feature availability, pricing, and onboarding are confirmed per engagement — book a walkthrough to see the live product against your own books.
- What is the catch with "free" CPA access? — There is none — inviting your outside accountant does not add to your plan cost. It is one active seat per business.

Bring it to the walkthrough — we would rather show you the exact behaviour against your own books than describe it in the abstract.
